..::GENERAL QUESTIONS::..
+ WHAT IS EL WIRE?
- EL Wire, which stands for Electroluminescent Wire, or more simply Glow-Wire, is a thin copper wire that is coated in a phosphorous material that glows when an alternating current is applied to it.
- Glow-Wire is made up of specific layers of components that make it function. At its center is a thin copper core wire that is coated with a phosphorous material. A very fine copper wire is then spiraled and coiled around the phosphorous and then a double layer of protective PVC plastic is formed on top of that with the inner layer being a clear protective sleeve and the outer layer being the colored PVC that gives the wire its specific color. An alternating current of electricity is then applied to the copper core and thinly coiled wire, which is what makes the phosphorous ‘glow’.
- Glow-Wire is an especially fragile product. If you bend it too sharply, or too many times in one place, it can sever the vital internal components of the wire that make it properly function, which basically means that the wire has become irreparably damaged. I say "irreparably" because even someone who may be highly skilled with a soldering gun will have an EXTREMELY difficult and tedious time attempting to repair broken Glow-Wire.
- Thus, due to the Glow Wire’s fragility and design limitations, great time and care went into designing, engineering, testing, and selecting the 7 different mask designs that you can see offered.
+ WHAT EL WIRE COLORS ARE BRIGHTEST?
- Out of the 9 colors offered, the ‘brightest’ colors would be Cyan and Lime Green. The least bright color is the Deep Red.

+ HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PRODUCE A SINGLE MASK?
- Each singular mask requires roughly 2 full days from start to finish to produce. This is mainly due to the time that must be given to allow the specific types of adhesives used to dry and properly cure.
- However, with that in mind, sometimes an order may require a little extra time to construct due to the possibility of running out of my inventory backstock of certain EL Wire colors or materials. It should be known that the wire colors that are most commonly difficult for me to obtain due to being regularly out of stock are the Pink, Deep Red, and Burnt Orange. This is because of the high standard I have for sourcing the highest quality wire with the most accurate shades of color and in doing that, it just so happens that those 3 colors are ordered from a different supplier. Please refer to each of the product pages to view a current and accurate inventory figure of each color I have in stock.
+ WHO MAKES EACH MASK?
- I do! I’m currently the 1 sole person crafting each mask by hand and running the entire show behind the scenes! :)
+ HOW MANY COLORS AND MASK DESIGNS ARE OFFERED?
- There is a total of 3 different design choices each person must make when ordering their mask(s): Mask Design, EL Wire color, and Foam Design color. There is a total of 7 different mask designs offered. They are: The Goo, The Mayan, The Reef, The Spiral, The Thunder, The Viper, and The Vortex. Next, there are 9 different El Wire colors that are offered: Pink, Deep Red, Burnt Orange, Yellow, Lime Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple, and White. And lastly, there is the glitter foam design that the EL Wire traces around which comes in the following colors: Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple, White, Silver, and Black glitter
+ CAN I MIX AND MATCH GLOW WIRE AND GLITTER FOAM COLORS?
- Yes! While the most popular option is to have the Glow Wire and Glitter Foam match in color, you have the option to mix and match colors however you please!
- If you are unsure as to how a specific color combo will look, send me a message of the color combo(s) you are interested in and I can dive into my inventory of Glitter Foam and Glow Wire to send you some photos and give you a rough idea as to what your requested color combo’s may look like.
- I believe I’ve done the math correctly here, but between 9 Glow Wire colors, 10 Glitter Foam colors, and 7 different mask designs, that equates to 630 different variations for you to choose from for your mask.
+ WHAT COMES IN THE BOX?
- Each mask comes carefully packaged in its own storage box, which includes 1 mask with an attached 3ft wire extension cord and AA battery pack (Batteries not included), a “Care Instructions” label, and a few other extra added details as well. ;)
+ WHAT JUSTIFIES THE COST OF EACH MASK?
- A total of 20 different products from 20 different suppliers and stores are required to hand-craft each mask from the ground up. It’s also a careful, delicate process that requires a lot of patience and time to ensure that each mask is up to my standards of quality and presentability, both of which are of the utmost importance to me.
+ ARE THE MASKS ONE SIZE FITS ALL?
- Technically they are one size fits MOST. Each mask is fitted with a ¾” braided elastic strap and several different tests were conducted in order to find a strap size length that was most comfortable on the majority of adult head sizes. Basically, it was a process of testing out various strap sizes on both smaller and larger adult heads and finding that perfect junction where no strap felt too loose on a smaller head or too tight on a larger head, but just right on both.
+ CAN YOU DO CUSTOM DESIGNS?
- I do not offer custom design options at this time, but I may be open to it in the future.
..::QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW TO OPERATE AND CARE FOR YOUR MASK::..
+ WHAT TYPE OF BATTERIES ARE REQUIRED TO OPERATE?
- Each mask requires 2 AA batteries.
+ HOW DO I OPERATE THE MASK?
- On the battery pack, there is a single button. Push it once to turn it on into ‘Solid Mode’, press it again for “Slow Flash Mode”, press it again for “Fast Flash Mode”, and press it a final time to turn it back off. Do NOT turn on the battery pack when it is not plugged into the EL Wire as it could potentially damage its internal components.
+ HOW SHOULD I TAKE CARE OF MY MASK?
- DON'T apply power to the battery pack without it being plugged into the glow wire as it may damage its internal components.
- DON'T submerge or splash the mask along with any of its electronic components with liquids
- DON’T yank on any of the wiring as it could irreparably damage the wiring or the mask.
- DON’T throw the mask and/or battery pack around
- DON’T forcibly bend the mask as it could severely weaken the adhesives that bonds the glow wire design to the mask
- DO use the provided box to store your mask when it is not in use or for when you are traveling
- DO toggle through the different light modes at your leisure
- DO, most importantly, HAVE FUN!
- **PRO-TIP: I Highly recommend running the battery pack down through the inside of the back of your shirt/top and placing the battery pack in a pants/waist pocket. This method ensures the lowest risk for potentially snagging the mask wiring on anything! :)
+ HOW DO I CLEAN MY MASK?
- If you wish to clean your mask for any reason at all, you may do so by gently cleaning it with a damp paper towel.
+ WHAT HAPPENS IF MY MASK BECOMES DAMAGED?
- Each mask and battery pack is tested before shipping to ensure it is fully 100% operational but if your mask becomes damaged, please contact me with details so we can discuss what is wrong and hopefully work out a viable solution. Photos and/or videos are encouraged as well so I can have a visual reference to what is wrong.
- Should any of the adhesive that bonds the Glow-Wire design to the mask weaken or come apart, please contact me with photos of the damage so I can visually assess the possibility of performing a repair.
- Should the battery pack function fine, but the EL Wire does not light up, then this is what I consider to be the equivalent of the infamous “Blue Screen of Death.” This means the Glow-Wire itself has become damaged in some way shape or form and when that happens, it is pretty much irreparable. I know, my description may sound a little extreme, but it’s the honest truth. EL-Wire is an incredibly fragile product. However, in understanding just how fragile EL-WIre can be, if your wire burns out, refuses to turn on, or becomes damaged in any way shape or form due to prolonged use or general wear and tear, I can offer a 1 TIME ONLY replacement mask; HOWEVER, the buyer must ship the mask back to me so I can confirm the damage and begin work on a replacement... So please contact me should such a situation occur. With that said though, PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR MASK!! AND Please refer to the operational instructions to ensure that your mask can last for years to come!
..::QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR ORDER::..
+ WHAT DO I DO IF MY MASK IS DELIVERED DAMAGED?
- Each mask comes shipped in a box that is slightly padded with foam and the mask and battery pack carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and tissue paper. In the event that you open the box and any part of the mask is damaged (ie. Any of the adhesive has weakened or the glow-wire won’t turn on), please contact me explaining what is wrong within 3 days upon delivery and please include photos and/or videos to help visually aid me in further assessing what is wrong. After a verbal exchange and assessment, you will have the option to send your mask back to me where I can assess it in person. If no problem is detected by me upon receiving the mask in the mail, it will be sent back to you. If a problem is in fact detected, depending on the severity, it will either be repaired by me, or I will replace it entirely with a brand new mask of the same design and colors. The replacement mask is a 1 TIME ONLY feature. The original mask will then be discarded and recycled and the new mask will be fully tested, carefully repackaged, and shipped back to you.
+ WHAT IF I AM UNHAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE AND WOULD LIKE A REFUND OR EXCHANGE?
- If there is nothing wrong with your mask functionality wise, please contact me as quickly as possible as I will happily accept returns within 7 Days upon delivery; HOWEVER, if your mask is returned damaged in any way shape or form, a refund will not be offered or issued.
- If something IS in fact wrong with your order upon delivery such as the mask not lighting up, please refer to the question above labeled “What do I do if my mask is delivered damaged?”
- No exchanges are offered. This is mainly due to the custom color selections each buyer has the option to select. Each mask is made to the buyers selcted color option preferences. If you are unsure of the color selection you have a desire to choose, please contact me so I can send you an example of what your color selections will look like.
- If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me explaining to me exactly what you are unhappy with. I would never want to have a disappointed customer and/or client so talk to me. Fill me in. Give me the deets. How can I help you turn that frown upside down? I’m all ears!
+ WHAT SHIPPING METHODS ARE OFFERED?
- Shipping is done through UPS via 'Ground' or '2nd Day Air'. I am located and ship each order from West Hollywood, CA so shipping costs are automatically calculated based upon your location within the United Sates.
- At this time, orders can only be ordered and ship WITHIN the United Sates.
+ WHAT IF I NEED MY ORDER TO BE DELIVERED BY A SPECIFIC DATE?
- If you need your order delivered by a specific date, well, then that’s your cue to plan ahead and order well in advance to ensure a delivery on time!
- However, if you are nervous about receiving your mask in time for a specific event or date, please contact me with the details and I will get back to you as quickly as possible to see whether it will be feasible of me or not.
- Since this is a new boutique business I’ve started by myself and run entirely by myself, I don’t yet have a gauge as to how busy I may or may not get around certain events, holidays, and/or festivals. Because of this, if I happen to become overwhelmed with the amount of orders I must fulfill at any given time, I may be forced to put a temporary hold on all further orders until the ones placed have been completed. If this should occur, the front page of the website along with my Instagram account will be updated accordingly to display such an update.
